Baking during Lockdown

As the lockdown is eased we are looking forward to George returning to school somewhere around the 8th of June. At that time we can start to re-adjust to normal-ish life and begin to work again, both professionally and on projects like this blog.

During lockdown we have worked hard to provide a fun and fulfilling time for George, it has not been easy but we have survived. One of the things George has enjoyed most is baking. He has always loved it and, with guidance videos from his teacher, he has been able to recreate his school cooking lessons at home:

You can see George following along watching a video on an iPad of his teacher instructing him. It was lovely to see him following a recipe and paying attention to his teacher. Although, moments after taking this photo he did pour the entire bag of sugar into his mix rather than the required amount. But it’s sugar… who wouldn’t try. Thankfully we were able to extract enough to meet the recipe requirements.

Here is another picture from a different day’s baking, one that left George a little floury!

I really hope to return to regular blogging in a couple of weeks and look forward to updating the site on what we have been doing as well as the books I have read and games played.
